Ladies Of Harley Teddy Bear Run

Thanks to everyone for a successful run in 2008.

2009 Date will be announced later this year.

How the Teddy Bear Run was born

Every year more and more children in Arkansas are facing distressful situations through no fault of their own.  These children may have been involved in motor vehicle accidents, house fires or may have been victims of domestic violence.

Susan McCord had heard of other groups within the community working to assist these children and felt a need to do something.   So in 2000 Susan got busy enlisting the help of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department to see if they would be interested in helping and of course they were more than willing to assist.

So the annual Teddy Bear Run was born.  All of the teddy bears that are donated each year are delivered to the Pulaski County Sherriff’s Department and distributed to the deputies to carry in their Patrol vehicles. In the event that they respond to an emergency call where a child is involved the Deputies offer the teddy bear to comfort the child in an otherwise terrifying situation.

Over the years the Teddy Bear Run has seen a tremendous response to this great cause with more motorcyclists participating every year.  We are striving to make 2008 bigger and better than ever but we need your help.

The donations from the 2008 CAC Calendar will go to buy Teddy Bears for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Dept.
